A brief insight

As a long-term client for Point 6, it is exciting to be part of the team having the opportunity and privilege of working on the ADDIS Housewares account. As the brand evolved and new improved products came to market ADDIS looked to update their brand for a more discerning audience. The journey began with logo development, product rationalization into category sectors, and a refreshed visual brand language.

Defining a

product range

to create

sub-brands

An integral part of the brand refresh involved rationalizing the vast range of ADDIS housewares products in order to create sub-brands. Using a colour coding system in conjunction with the ADDIS mark four key sub-brands were created, Cleaning utility, Laundry, Kitchenware and Electrical. These sub-brands became key identifiers used on all packaging to help categorize each product within the four categories.

Early design concepts and exploration work…

As part of the brand language, the curve of the ADDIS ‘Lozenge’ was emphasized as a graphic device to hold supporting product hero images or textures. The ADDIS ‘Product curve’ has been designed to sit in the bottom right-hand corner of all product packaging, this is integral to the overall look and feel of all packs. All hero images in most cases will break out of the graphic curve to create a more dynamic look to the product photography.

To create a more premium look to the overall design and brand communication, the introduction of gradient colour backgrounds were used. This gave greater emphasis to the ‘Guarantee of quality’ and ‘Great British brand’ mark.
